Delegation from the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT Visits the TaiwanICDF
A three-member delegation from the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, comprising Dr. Carlo Fadda, Dr. Sebastien Carpentier, and Ms. Yu-Chun Liao, visited the TaiwanICDF today. The delegation was warmly received by TaiwanICDF Deputy Secretary General PeiFen Hsieh, who extended a heartfelt welcome to the distinguished visitors.
TaiwanICDF and CIAT have a long-standing history of close collaboration, with numerous joint initiatives across the Asia-Pacific and Latin America regions. Notably, the ongoing " Corn Production Resilience Strengthening Project " exemplifies this partnership. Together, TaiwanICDF and CIAT have developed the Aclimate smart agriculture platform, which provides climate forecasts and early warning information to help farmers address climate change challenges and enhance maize production resilience. During the visit, both sides discussed and exchanged views on current collaborative projects.
During the meeting, in addition to a presentation by Ms. Jan Wei-Hsin, Section Chief of the Technical Cooperation Department, and her team on projects related to TaiwanICDF and CIAT, Deputy Secretary General Hsieh hopes that this visit would foster more opportunities for international agricultural cooperation and research. She also emphasized the importance of creating stronger global linkages for Taiwan and further advancing collaboration between both parties.
