Marshall Islands New Ambassador to the R.O.C (Taiwan) visits the TaiwanICDF
The recently appointed ambassador of the Marshall Islands to the Republic of China (Taiwan), Anjanette Kattil, visited the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) on September 12, 2023.
The Secretary General of the TaiwanICDF, Ambassador Charles Chao-Cheng Li, warmly welcomed Ambassador Kattil and congratulated her on her new appointment. They exchanged views on the TaiwanICDF’s cooperation projects in the Marshall Islands and discussed future cooperation in lending and investment as well as education and training.
The TaiwanICDF’s ongoing projects in the country include the Enhancing Nutrition Balance Through Agricultural Production Project and the Livestock Expansion Project. In addition, the TaiwanICDF dispatches volunteers and service members to assist with project implementation as part of the Taiwan Youth Overseas Service program.
In terms of education, 148 participants from the Marshall Islands have received training from the TaiwanICDF’s professional workshops, and 23 students have received the organization’s International Higher Education Scholarship and studied in Taiwan. Currently, six Marshallese students are pursuing higher education in Taiwan.
