Project Description:
The TaiwanICDF contributes to the Guarantee Fund of Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), which was established in response to the COVID-19 crisis, to support (i) women who wish to start a business; (ii) self-employed women; (iii) micro, small- and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) owned by women; (iv) MSMEs with majority equity and partners of women; and (i) MSMEs with female employees exceeding 50% in Taiwan’s allied countries to access loans by sharing the credit risk (reducing collateral requirements) with local financial institutions.
In addition to credit guarantees, technical assistance is also be provided to selected financial institutions to enhance their ability to address the needs of women and women-owned MSMEs, as well as developing financial services and products for women entrepreneurs.

To support women and women entrepreneurs in Taiwan’s allied countries to access loans for their business and promote employment, so as to boost economic recovery and enhance women’s economic empowerment.
Executing Agency:
Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI)
Implementation Arrangement:
CABEI is the administrator for the implementation and management of the funds provided by the TaiwanICDF. The credit guarantees are applied to loans to the eligible women and MSMEs through the banks, non-bank financial institutions and cooperatives which have signed a credit line with CABEI in compliance with CABEI's selection criteria.
