Project Description:
The provision of a loan to an Uzbekistan based producer of spreads and butter to finance working capital needs and the acquisition of refrigerators.
Project Objectives:
To provide the company with the additional working capital required to support sales growth, increase production capacity utilization and productivity, and improve profitability.

The loan is administered by the EBRD and executed by beneficiary company.

Projected Benefits:
The project will improve the competitiveness and governance of the company. It will also help the company to improve standards in line with internationally recognized certification by obtaining the ISO45001 and increasing capacity utilization. Under well-governed quality principles and guidelines, the project will help the company to improve its financial management.
The loan will also be supported by EBRD technical assistance relating to climate change mitigation and grants from other donors allowing for the reduction of annual CO2e emissions during the production process. In addition, the company will be able to source new raw materials from RSPO-certified (“Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil”) suppliers.
