The President of the Marshall Islands Visits the TaiwanICDF

The president of the Marshall Islands, David Kabua, and the first lady, Ginger Kabua, were accompanied by a delegation to visit the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) on March 22, 2022. 

The TaiwanICDF Secretary General, Ambassador Timothy T.Y. Hsiang warmly welcomed President David Kabua and the other honorable guests and they exchanged views on the TaiwanICDF’s cooperation projects in the Marshall Islands.

The TaiwanICDF’s ongoing projects in the country include the Enhancing Nutrition Balance Through Agricultural Production Project, Livestock Expansion Project. Under the Taiwan Youth Overseas Service program, the TaiwanICDF also dispatches servicemen to assist with the implementation of projects.

To date, a total of 148 participants from the Marshall Islands have received training from the TaiwanICDF’s professional workshops, 53 participants from the Vocational Training Program, and a total of 21students have received International Higher Education Scholarships and studied in Taiwan. Currently, a total of 6 Marshallese students are studying in higher education in Taiwan.
