Time: 19:00 Taipei | 13:00 Geneva

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, governments play a leading role in pandemic prevention and control as well as relevant measures announcements, and ICT applications add great value to the execution. Various ICT enterprises, social enterprises, and INGO/NGOs have cooperated with governments in combatting the COVID-19 pandemic by providing disease prevention information, monitoring locations of people who are required to self-isolate or self-quarantine, and staying connected and communicating with patients through mobile phones. Among the actions taken, the application of contact tracing technology is essential for the prevention and control of the pandemic.

The TaiwanICDF is cooperating with the Swiss-based INGO Terre des hommes (Tdh) to conduct the webinar: "Contact Tracing Technology Applications in Tackling COVID-19" during the WHA meeting. The webinar aims to explore examples of contact tracing technology applications in different countries by Dimagi and other organizations. Additionally, Taiwan’s successful experience with using ICT in COVID-19 prevention and control will be introduced, and privacy issues of contact tracing technology will also be discussed.
