Belize Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture Visits the TaiwanICDF

Hon. Patrick Jason Faber, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture of Belize, accompanied by Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Hon. Jose Manuel Heredia Jr., Minister of Transport and National Emergency Management, Hon. Edmond George Castro, and Secretary-General of Belize National Commission for UNESCO, Mr. Roosevelt Alexander Blades, visited the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) on October 8, 2019.

TaiwanICDF Deputy Secretary General Dr. Pai-Po Lee warmly welcomed Hon. Faber and the other honorable guests. They exchanged views on the TaiwanICDF’s cooperation projects in Belize.

The TaiwanICDF’s ongoing projects in the country include the Belize City House of Culture and Downtown Rejuvenation Project, the Belize Motor Vehicle Registration and License System Project, the Genetic Improvement in Sheep and Goat Project, the Belize Urban Resilience and Disaster Prevention Project and the National Broadband Plan. Under the scheme of the Taiwan Youth Overseas Service program, the TaiwanICDF also dispatches servicemen to assist with the implementation of projects.
To date, a total of 216 participants from Belize have received training from the TaiwanICDF’s professional workshops, and a total of 298 students from the country have received International Higher Education Scholarships and studied in Taiwan.
