Project Description：

Pinney’s Beach in St. Kitts and Nevis (SKN) is a popular recreational destination for local residents and tourists. SKN proposed the construction of a beach park for recreational and leisure use to celebrate the 35 years of friendship between the two nations, and serve as a symbol of the bilateral collaboration. Due to Taiwan’s extensive experience in coastal landscaping and park design, project planning and implementation will bring together a range of resources in accordance with the principles of environmental friendliness and multiculturalism. A Park Management Committee will also be established and a revenue model identified to set up a sustainable operation & maintenance (O&M) system for the beach park.

Implementation Start Date：2019-07-30

Implementation End Date：2021-12-31

Project Objectives：The completion of Pinney’s Beach Park as a new tourist and leisure destination for Nevis. At the completion of the project, a comprehensive park O&M system is set up by the partner unit.

Current Progress：

To the end of September 2021, the following activities have been completed:
1. Completed the signing of the Pinney’s Beach Park Project between the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis and the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
2. Completed signing construction contract with contractor.
3. Held a painting activity of "Impression Communication between Distant Islands", "2020 ART in the PARK-fence painting" and "422 Earth Day Tree Planting Activity" in St. Kitts and Nevis.
4. Passed the "Environmental Impact Assessment".
5. Completed with Cades Bay Agricultural Station of Nevis Ministry of Agriculture on beach park landscaping and the production of ornamental plants required for park maintenance. And drafted the landscape seedling and nursury SOP manual.
6. Completed the parking area, lawn amphitheater and their surrounding landscape engineering of Pinney’s Beach Park.

Project Performance：

1. Construction of Pinney’s Beach Park: Engage in project planning and implementation that brings together a range of resources in accordance with the principles of environmental friendliness and multiculturalism.
2. Set up O&M system for beach park.
