Minister of State, Ministry of Investment, Trade and Commerce of Belize Visits the TaiwanICDF

A four-member delegation led by Minister of State, Ministry of Investment, Trade and Commerce of Belize the Hon. Tracy Panton visited the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) on August 12, 2019.

TaiwanICDF Secretary General Amb. Timothy T. Y. Hsiang warmly welcomed Hon. Panton and the other honorable guests. They exchanged views on the TaiwanICDF’s cooperation projects in Belize.

The TaiwanICDF’s ongoing projects in the country include the Belize Urban Resilience and Disaster Prevention Project, Belize Motor Vehicle Registration and License System Project, Genetic Improvement in Sheep and Goat Project, Capacity Building Project for the Prevention and Control of Chronic Renal Failure, National Broadband Plan, and Belize City House of Culture and Downtown Rejuvenation Project. Under the scheme of the Taiwan Youth Overseas Service program, the TaiwanICDF also dispatches servicemen to assist with the implementation of projects.

To date, a total of 216 participants from Belize have received training from the TaiwanICDF’s professional workshops, and a total of 269 students from the country have received International Higher Education Scholarships and studied in Taiwan.
