Minister for Education, Innovation, Gender Relations and Sustainable Development of Saint Lucia Visits the TaiwanICDF
Minister for Education, Innovation, Gender Relations and Sustainable Development of Saint Lucia Hon. Dr. Gale Rigobert, and Permanent Secretary of the Department of Education, Innovation and Gender Relations Hon. Michelle Charles visited the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) on June 13, 2019.
TaiwanICDF Deputy Secretary General Mr. Alex L. J. Shyy warmly welcomed Hon. Rigobert and Hon. Charles. They exchanged views on the TaiwanICDF’s cooperation projects in St. Lucia.
The TaiwanICDF’s ongoing projects in the country include the Banana Productivity Improvement Project and Project for Enhancing the Efficiency of Production-Distribution Supply Chain in Fruit and Vegetable. Under the scheme of the Taiwan Youth Overseas Service program, the TaiwanICDF also dispatches servicemen to assist with the implementation of projects.
To date, a total of 133 participants from Saint Lucia have received training from the TaiwanICDF’s professional workshops, and a total of 72 students from the country have received International Higher Education Scholarships and studied in Taiwan.
