St. Kitts and Nevis Minister of Foreign Affairs and Aviation and Premier of Nevis Visits the TaiwanICDF

Hon. Mark A. G. Brantley, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Aviation of St. Kitts and Nevis and Premier of Nevis, accompanied by Minister of Physical Planning, Environment and Water in the Nevis Island Administration, Hon. Spencer Brand, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Kaye Bass and Permanent Secretary in the Premier’s Ministry in the Nevis Island Administration, Mr. Wakely Daniel, visited the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) on May 6, 2019.

TaiwanICDF Deputy Secretary General Dr. Pai-Po Lee warmly welcomed Hon. Brantley and the other honorable guests. They exchanged views on the TaiwanICDF’s cooperation projects in St. Kitts and Nevis.

The TaiwanICDF’s ongoing projects in the country include the Land Administration Information System Project, the Enhancing Agricultural Adaptive Capacity to Climate Variability Project, and the Capacity Building Project for the Prevention and Control of Chronic Kidney Disease. Under the scheme of the Taiwan Youth Overseas Service program, the TaiwanICDF also dispatches servicemen to assist with the implementation of projects.

To date, a total of 134 participants from St. Kitts and Nevis have received training from the TaiwanICDF’s professional workshops, and a total of 42 students from the country have received International Higher Education Scholarships and studied in Taiwan.
