Project Description:
This project will increase fruit and vegetable production and marketing activities and establish best practices for the development of the local fruit and vegetable industry.
Overall, this project will:
1. Assist in fruit and vegetable production and marketing in Croix-des Bouquets on the eastern outskirts of Port-au-Prince, thereby providing Haitian people with a source of fresh, healthy and affordable produce.
2. Establish a seed and seedling management center in Jacmel and assist cooperating units to manage the facility and provide consultancy services; establish efficient supply chains to facilitate marketing activities and thereby improve farmers’ profits.
3. Complete project handover activities.

Project Objectives:
1. Improve technical skills associated with cultivation and planting; establish five production and marketing groups to improve farmers’ profits and provide guidance to 70-80 farmers.
2. Assist cooperating units to manage a seed and seedling management center and produce 60,000 seedlings per year.
3. Establish a human resources implementation plan and provide training to three project stakeholders and six technicians from cooperating units.
4. Complete project handover activities.
