Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA)
Established in 1983 by the government of the Republic of South Africa, the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) envisions an empowered and integrated southern African region free of poverty, inequity and dependency. Its mandate is to accelerate sustainable socio-economic development in the region by funding physical, social and economic infrastructure. By adhering to the principles of sustainable development, the DBSA finances and sponsors programs and projects formulated to address the social, economic and environmental needs of the people of southern Africa in improving their quality of life and increase human resource development and institutional capacity-building.
