Taiwan Technical Mission in Indonesia participates in Asian Agriculture & Food Forum 2018

In line with the New Southbound Policy, the Taiwan Technical Mission (TTM) has not only promoted cooperation projects, but also set up a smart greenhouse in Bandung. The project has recently caught the attention of the Indonesian Farmers Association (Himpunan Kerukunan Tani Indonesia, HKTI). The HKTI has invited TTM to participate in the Asian Agriculture & Food Forum 2018, which will be held from June 28 to July 1 in Jakarta, and share the achievements of their agricultural cooperation projects in Indonesia and Taiwan’s strengths in agricultural technology and development.

The Taipei Economic and Trade Office (TETO) and TTM will set up a booth at the exhibition to display tourism and scholarship information. Members of TTM will also present all the projects that have been implemented in Indonesia, including the ongoing Strengthening Incubator Agribusiness with Human Resources Development in Bandung project. The forum will be an opportunity to share the achievements of TTM's great contribution in Indonesia with all the participants and exchange ideas on agricultural innovation with other countries.

The Asian Agriculture & Food Forum 2018 will focus on agricultural innovation and development in the face of global climate change and water scarcity. Indonesian President Mr. Joko Widodo, Minister of Agriculture and Minister of Trade will also give remarks at the opening ceremony. Indonesia has also invited more than 20 countries including ASEAN member countries, Japan and South Korea, as well as the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), to join this forum.
