Solomon Islands’ Prime Minister visits the TaiwanICDF
Prime Minister Hon. Rick Nelson Houenipwela and Madam Rachel Lilly Houenipwela, accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affair and External Trade Hon. Milner Tozaka, Minister of Development and Aid Coordination Hon. Jeremiah Manele, Minister of Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Meteorology Hon. Culwick Togamana and Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Cabinet Sub-Committee for 2023 Pacific Games Hon. Steve Abana, visited the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) on May 21, 2018.
TaiwanICDF Secretary General Amb. Timothy T.Y. Hsiang warmly welcomed Hon. Rick Nelson Houenipwela and the other honorable guests. They exchanged views on the TaiwanICDF’s cooperation projects in Solomon Islands.
The TaiwanICDF’s ongoing projects in the country include Vegetable and Fruit Improvement Project, Integrated Hog-raising Project and Food Crop Improvement Project. Under the scheme of the Taiwan Youth Overseas Service program, the TaiwanICDF also dispatches servicemen to assist with the implementation of projects.
To date, a total of 152 participants from Solomon Islands have received training from the TaiwanICDF’s professional workshops and a total of 44 students from the country have received International Higher Education Scholarships and studied in Taiwan.
