Minister of Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs of Belize Visits the TaiwanICDF

A four-member delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs of Belize, Hon. Wilfred Elrington, visited the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) on November 16, 2017.

TaiwanICDF Secretary General Amb. Timothy T.Y. Hsiang warmly welcomed Hon. Elrington and the other honorable guests. They exchanged views on the TaiwanICDF’s cooperation projects in Belize.

The TaiwanICDF’s ongoing projects in the country include the CABEI-TaiwanICDF Fund for Consulting Service, Strengthening the Control of Huanglongbing (HLB) and the Implementation of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in Citrus Project, Belize City House of Culture and Downtown Rejuvenation Project, Belize Motor Vehicle Registration and License System Project, Genetic Improvement in Sheep and Goat Project, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Project, and Capacity Building Project for the Prevention and Control of Chronic Renal Failure in Belize. Under the scheme of the Taiwan Youth Overseas Service program, the TaiwanICDF also dispatches servicemen to assist with the implementation of projects.
To date, a total of 197 participants from Belize have received training from the TaiwanICDF’s professional workshops, and a total of 245 students from the country have received International Higher Education Scholarships and studied in Taiwan.
