Executive President of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) Dr. Nick Rischbieth and the Bank’s Chief Financial Officer Mr. Hernán Danery Alvarado visited the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) on September 7, 2017.

TaiwanICDF Deputy Secretary General Dr. Lee Pai-po warmly welcomed Dr. Rischbieth and Mr. Alvarado. They exchanged views on TaiwanICDF projects currently implemented in cooperation with CABEI.

CABEI, an international multilateral development financial institution, was established in 1960 with its headquarters in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The main mission of the organization is to assist its member countries in the Central American region in the provision of financial solutions that contribute to the creation of employment and improvement of the wellbeing and quality of life of its citizens. Since Taiwan’s accession to CABEI as an extra-regional member in 1990, the TaiwanICDF has cooperated with the organization on a number of financial and technical assistance projects to spur development in the Central American private sector.

The TaiwanICDF’s ongoing projects in cooperation with CABEI include the CABEI Special Fund for the Social Transformation of Central America Phase II, TaiwanICDF-CABEI Technological and Vocational Education and Training Student Loan Fund, TaiwanICDF TVET Technical Assistance Fund, CABEI-TaiwanICDF Fund for Consulting Service, Regional Lending Program for Coffee Rust in Central America, CABEI Special Fund for the Social Transformation of Central America Phase II - Rural Infrastructure Project and CABEI Special Fund for the Social Transformation of Central America Phase II - "Corredor del Quetzal" Phase II Sustainable Development Program.
