St. Kitts and Nevis’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Visits the TaiwanICDF

Hon. Mark Anthony G. Brantley, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Aviation of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, visited the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) on August 21, 2017. He was accompanied by Minister of Agriculture, Health, National Health Insurance, Human Settlements, Community Development, Gender Affairs, Social Services, Land and Cooperatives Hon. Eugene Alastair Hamilton and Mrs. Juliette Hamilton, Minister of Agriculture, House and Land of the Nevis Administration Hon. Alexis Jeffers, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Health of the Nevis Administration Mrs. Nicole Slack-Liburd, and Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Education of the Nevis Administration Mr. Kevin Barrett.

TaiwanICDF Secretary General Amb. Timothy T.Y. Hsiang warmly welcomed Hon. Mark Anthony G. Brantley and the other honorable guests. They exchanged views on the TaiwanICDF’s cooperation projects in St. Kitts and Nevis.

The TaiwanICDF’s ongoing projects in the country include the Vegetable, Fruit and Upland Crop Quality and Safety Improvement Project, the ICT Technical Cooperation Project, and the Capacity Building Project for the Prevention and Control of Chronic Kidney Disease in St. Kitts and Nevis. Under the scheme of the Taiwan Youth Overseas Service program, the TaiwanICDF also dispatches servicemen to assist with the implementation of projects.
To date, a total of 122 participants from St. Kitts and Nevis have received training from the TaiwanICDF’s Professional Workshops, and a total of 33 students from the country have received International Higher Education Scholarships and studied in Taiwan.
