July Marks Appointment of Amb. Timothy Hsiang as New TaiwanICDF Secretary General
Amb. Timothy Hsiang was appointed as the TaiwanICDF’s new secretary general on July 1, 2017. During his tenure as section chief and deputy director-general of the Department of Economic and Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Secretary General Hsiang actively participated in the legalization of Taiwan’s foreign aid work including Taiwan’s International Cooperation and Development Act and MOFA’s White Paper on Foreign Aid Policy.
Secretary General Hsiang was also program director of the APEC Secretariat, and Taiwan’s ambassador to the Republic of Nauru and State of Kuwait, during which time he was actively involved in promoting cooperation projects in various fields covering education, medicine, clean energy, horticulture and livestock farming.
Secretary General Hsiang said that he was impressed by TaiwanICDF staffs’ professional and hard-working attitude when he served in the Department of Economic and Trade Affairs. In the future, he will continue to lead the organization in promoting diplomacy based on the solid foundation laid by the previous secretary general Ambassador Shih, scaling new heights in foreign aid work with TaiwanICDF staff’s creativity and vitality.
