Recovery through compassion
In cooperation with Mercy Corps, the TaiwanICDF is providing more than US$116,000 from the organizations’ joint Humanitarian Cooperation Fund to recruit around 500 local residents for a cash-for-work program in and around Port-au-Prince. This will allow Haitians to play an active role in the post-disaster clean up, including the construction of temporary shelters. The funding will also support ten Community Tool Banks, which will provide sufficient materials and resources for around 700 local people to start rebuilding their communities.
