Project Description：This third-phase project (2017-2019) will focus on issues surrounding propagation and cultivation techniques in gloriosa, sweet potato and grape root stock. The TaiwanICDF will actively cooperate with Thailand’s Royal Project Foundation to introduce the technical SOP of tissue culture and the multiple production of the virus-free plantlet of crops to improve product quality and yield, and arrange for project-related personnel to visit Taiwan to receive training in relevant technologies. Training workshops will also be conducted within Thailand to enhance the skills of Royal Project technicians and local farmers. Overall, the project will:
1.Collect suitable varieties and apply plant tissue culture technologies for effective propagation systems of Gloriosa, Sweet potato Virus-free Seedling and Grape Root Stock Production.
2.Produce virus-free plantlets of gloriosa, sweet potato and healthy rootstock plants of grape for Royal Project Foundation station and farmers.
3.Hold training workshops and arrange for the relevant Thai stakeholders to study project-related techniques in Taiwan.

Project Performance：A.To set up the target crops of healthy seedling propagation technique:
1.Produce 1,500 and 10,000 gloriosa and sweet potato virus-free mother stocks, respectively.
(1) Set up the techniques of tissue culture and diagnose and identify virus pathogens.
2.Produce 1,000 healthy grape rootstock seedlings:
(1) Set up tissue culture technique for propagation of six cultivars of grape rootstock.
(2) Gain two superior grape rootstock seedling varieties by tissue culture.
B.To build large scale production ability and management capacity :
1.Produce 200,000 virus-free seedlings of sweet potato.
2.Produce 15, 000 virus-free seedlings of gloriosa.
3.Produce 500-1,000 grafted plants of grape.
(1) Select the most suitable grape rootstock.
(2) Select the superior grape varieties as grafting mother plants.
C.To enhance the capacity of technicians of tissue culture in the Royal Project areas.
1.Hold four study trips to Taiwan.
2.Train two RPF technicians in Taiwan for virus-free plant mother stock production.
3.Dispatch nine experts’ from Taiwan for short-term visits to hold training courses.
4.Hold an international seminar.
