Permanent Representatives to the United Nations Visit the TaiwanICDF

Permanent Representative of Tuvalu to the United Nations (UN), H.E. Amb. Aunese Makoi Simati; Permanent Representative of the Marshall Islands to the UN, H.E. Amb. Amatlain Elizabeth Kabua; Permanent Representative of St. Kitts and Nevis to the UN, H.E. Amb. Sam Condor; Permanent Representative of Burkina Faso to the UN, H.E. Amb. Eric Tiaré; Deputy Permanent Representative of Paraguay to the UN, H.E. Mr. Marcelo Scappini; and Deputy Permanent Representative of Honduras to the UN, H.E. Amb. Héctor Alejandro Palma-Cerna, visited the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) on October 26, 2016.

TaiwanICDF Secretary General Amb. Weber V.B. Shih warmly welcomed the honorable guests and exchanged views on the TaiwanICDF‘s core mission and important cooperation projects in each country.

The TaiwanICDF has maintained a long-term and close partnership with these countries, working together on projects related to technical cooperation, humanitarian assistance, lending and investment, or education and training. Under the scheme of the Taiwan Youth Overseas Service program, the TaiwanICDF also dispatches servicemen to assist with the implementation of certain projects.

To date, a combined 1,195 participants from Tuvalu, the Marshall Islands, St. Kitts and Nevis, Burkina Faso, Paraguay, and Honduras have received training from the TaiwanICDF’s Professional Workshops, and a combined total of 322 students have received International Higher Education Scholarships and studied in Taiwan.
