Delegation from the Republic of the Marshall Islands Visits TaiwanICDF

A ten-member delegation from the Republic of the Marshall Islands led by H.E. Kenneth A. Kedi, speaker of the Pacific nation’s parliament, visited the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) on October 13, 2016.

TaiwanICDF Auditor General Mr. Alex L.J. Shyy warmly welcomed Speaker Kenneth A. Kedi and the other honorable guests. They exchanged views on the TaiwanICDF's cooperation projects in the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

The TaiwanICDF’s ongoing projects in the country include the Horticulture Project, the Livestock Project, the Micro Credit Scheme and the 2016 Healthcare Personnel Training Program. Under the scheme of the Taiwan Youth Overseas Service program, the TaiwanICDF also dispatches servicemen to assist with the implementation of projects.

To date, a total of 80 participants from Marshall Islands have received training from the TaiwanICDF’s Professional Workshops, a total of 12 students from the country have received International Higher Education Scholarships and studied in Taiwan, and another 11 students have joined the TaiwanICDF’s Vocational Training Project for Youth in the Pacific.
