Director of Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) Guillermo Enrique Funes Cartagena visited the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) on January 25, 2016.

TaiwanICDF Deputy Secretary General Dr. Lee Pai-Po warmly welcomed Mr. Funes Cartagena. They exchanged views on TaiwanICDF projects implemented in cooperation with CABEI.
Currently, the TaiwanICDF cooperates with CABEI on three loan projects: the CABEI Special Fund for the Social Transformation of Central America—Social Infrastructure Project—FETS II, the TaiwanICDF－CABEI Technological and Vocational Education and Training Student Loan Fund (TVET Student Loan Fund), and a Regional Lending Program relating to Coffee Rust in Central America.

The TaiwanICDF also coordinates two technical assistance projects. One is the TaiwanICDF Fund for Consulting Services (CSF), which is used to support the provision of consultancy and technical services by Taiwanese consultants, who will identify early business opportunities by appraising CABEI projects during their pre-investment phase. The other is the TaiwanICDF－CABEI TVET Technical Assistance Fund, which is designed to assist vocational institutions participating in the TVET Student Loan Fund to improve curricula and employment prospects of graduates, and to build capacity of participating financial institutions.
