TaiwanICDF Dispatches Further Mandarin Teachers for Service in Partner Countries

With Chinese-language learning having become a significant worldwide trend in recent years, the TaiwanICDF has continued to promote the Overseas Professional Mandarin Teaching Project during 2015, deploying further teachers to provide Mandarin teaching services in countries such as Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, Honduras and Haiti in order to promote Chinese-language education and strengthen cultural exchanges with such partners.

The TaiwanICDF’s main purpose in managing the project is to promote Taiwanese culture and society among its partner countries, to promote cultural exchange with Taiwan, and to develop the influence of traditional Chinese characters.

Eleven Mandarin teachers were initially deployed during 2014, serving in Guatemala, El Salvador, Paraguay, Panama, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the Solomon Islands, Palau and Jordan. Having progressed well and gained wider attention from partners, this year the project will continue to expand.
