The TaiwanICDF will be accepting applications for its International Higher Education Scholarship Program, which this year is expected to provide scholarships to 195 students, between now and March 16. The program, managed in cooperation with 21 Taiwanese universities, offers 31 undergraduate and postgraduate courses covering a range of professional subjects such as science and technology, agriculture, public health and medicine, business administration, and humanities and social sciences. Open to students from a range of partner countries, applicants must initially apply for the program via their local Taiwanese embassy, or be recommended through the TaiwanICDF’s technical missions, overseas offices or projects.

Initiated in 1998, as of the end of 2014 the International Higher Education Scholarship Program had benefitted some 1,335 overseas students, of whom 488 students from 36 countries are presently studying in Taiwan. The TaiwanICDF operates the program in the hope of cultivating policy planning, technical and management expertise in its partner countries, while having overseas students study alongside Taiwanese students also expands the international perspective of local students, fulfilling the dual goals of supporting partner countries’ socio-economic development and promoting the internationalization of Taiwanese universities.
