TaiwanICDF Dispatches Group of 14 Long-term Volunteers

Mid-October will see the TaiwanICDF dispatch its fall 2014 group of 14 long-term volunteers, with the members of the group – including one continuing volunteer renewing an existing contract and one continuing volunteer transferring to a different country – due to serve for a year in St. Lucia, Nicaragua, Panama, Tuvalu and Thailand. New volunteers who complete their year’s service and are willing to continue following a successful appraisal will be able to renew their contract for a maximum of one further year.

The services to be provided by this most recent group of volunteers include nutrition, education, environmental protection, agro-marketing, food security, public health, medical examination, and conservation and eco-tourism.

The TaiwanICDF Overseas Volunteers Service this year entered its 18th year, having been under operation since 1996. As of the end of September 2014, some 599 volunteers had been dispatched to provide a range of volunteer services in 36 partner countries across Africa, Central and South America, Asia-Pacific and the Caribbean.
