TaiwanICDF Signs Agreement with Luke International Norway on Cooperation in Southern Africa
TaiwanICDF Secretary General Tao Wen-lung signed a cooperation agreement for the Strengthening the Management of HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Hypertension among Mobile Populations in Southern Africa Project with Hans Tore Leithe, managing director of Luke International Norway, in Pretoria, South Africa, on December 3, 2013.
The project is a new milestone for the TaiwanICDF: In addition to developing a new partnership with an international non-governmental organization and conforming to the Millennium Development Goals, the initiative is also focusing on the issue of chronic diseases as part of the post-2015 development agenda. The project will also emphasize the establishment of health information systems in its countries of implementation, and is set to become an important means of promoting international cooperation through Taiwan’s comparative advantages.
