Project Description：

The Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan), in accordance with the “Agreement of Agricultural Technical Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of China and the Government of the State of Bahrain,” has dispatched technical advisors to collaborate with the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture of Bahrain. In response to national development policies, the mission provides strategic advisory services on smart agriculture development, promotes aquaculture cooperation projects with potential partner institutions, and explores potential areas of bilateral cooperation in smart cities, with the objective of strengthening bilateral interaction and exchange in agriculture and smart city development. The main tasks include:1.Providing advisory and consulting services related to smart agriculture;2.Promoting aquaculture cooperation projects with potential partner institutions;3.Exploring potential areas of cooperation, including smart cities.

Current Progress：

As of March 2026, the following activities have been completed:

1. Continued collection and monitoring of Bahrain’s smart city–related technological development trends and policy directions, including concrete practices such as the transition toward waste collection systems with source separation, serving as an important reference for the assessment of potential future cooperation.

2. Ongoing support for the implementation of smart agriculture–related activities under the horticulture project, including the successful facilitation of a short-term expert dispatch of one smart agriculture specialist. On-site field visits to partner farms and campus demonstration farms were conducted, laying the foundation for the further development of cooperation models.
