
The TaiwanICDF, in collaboration with the Central American Integration System (SICA) and Terre des hommes (Tdh), is proud to host the international forum: "Data Empowerment for Collective Good: Smart Healthcare Implementation and Public Health System Upgrading" during the 79th World Health Assembly (WHA)
In response to the rapid technological advancements in healthcare and to showcase Taiwan's expertise in smart medical solutions, this forum will explore how digital transformation can strengthen global health governance and further build more resilient health systems.

This forum will bring together distinguished speakers from across the global health community. Opening remarks will be delivered by Dr. Chung-Liang Shih, Minister of Health and Welfare (MOHW) of Taiwan and Mr. José Renán De León Cáceres, Executive Secretary of the Council of Ministers of Health of Central America and the Dominican Republic (SE-COMISCA) of SICA. The session will be moderated by Dr. Velephi Okello, Director of Medical Services of the Ministry of Health of Eswatini.
The keynote session will feature Ms. Mathilde Forslund, CEO of the Transform Health, who will deliver a presentation titled “Data Governance: From Algorithms to Decisions—The Invisible Revolution of Smart Public Health.” During the panel discussion, Ms. Cathy Wang, Director of the Department of Humanitarian Assistance at TaiwanICDF, will share the organization’s experience in supporting resource-limited countries in progressing from foundational system development to integrated applications. Mr. José Renán De León Cáceres will also share insights on cross-country collaboration and the development and application of the AI tool AVI One Health.
In addition, Mr. Kallol Mukherji, Deputy of Health Program & Digital Health Manager at Terre des Hommes (Tdh), will present on Rights-Based Data Empowerment: Bridging Equity Gaps in Digital Transformation for Smart Healthcare Implementation. Furthermore, Mr. Sameer Kanwar, Director of Digital Health and Artificial Intelligence at PATH, will share his experience in implementing smart healthcare initiatives in developing countries. The forum will conclude with closing remarks by Mr. Stephen J. H. Lee, Deputy Secretary General of TaiwanICDF.
By bringing together key partners in the global public health sector, this forum aims to share valuable experiences and future directions in advancing smart healthcare, advocate for deeper integration of digital tools and adoption of emerging technologies, and transform data into a driving force for improving population health and strengthening public health governance to address increasingly complex global health challenges.
