The Foreign Minister of Guatemala, H.E. Amb. Mario Adolfo Búcaro Flores, accompanied by a five-member delegation, visited the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) on August 31, 2022.

The TaiwanICDF Secretary General Amb. Timothy T. Y. Hsiang warmly welcomed H.E. Amb. Búcaro and the other honorable guests. They exchanged views on the TaiwanICDF’s cooperation projects in Guatemala.

The TaiwanICDF’s ongoing projects in the country include the Project for the Revitalization of Crafts and Youth Entrepreneurship in Antigua Guatemala and Surrounding Municipalities in Sacatepéquez and the Project for Assisting the Economic Recovery and Empowerment of Women in Latin America and the Caribbean in the Post COVID-19 Era in Guatemala. Under the Taiwan Youth Overseas Service program, the TaiwanICDF also dispatches servicemen to assist with the implementation of projects.

To date, a total of 334 participants from Guatemala have received training from the TaiwanICDF’s professional workshops, and a total of 173 students from the country have received the International Higher Education Scholarship and studied in Taiwan.
