Project Description:
The Government of St. Kitts and Nevis has requested Taiwan’s continued assistance in drawing on its long-standing experience and strengths in renewable energy to support the country’s green energy transition. The project mainly includes:
(1) conducting an analysis of the national power grid system to strengthen the government’s capacity to integrate renewable energy into the existing national grid; and
(2) assisting the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis in establishing a smart microgrid demonstration site, thereby enhancing its practical capacity and experience in promoting renewable energy policies.

Project Objectives:
The project will establish a smart microgrid photovoltaic grid-connected demonstration site in St. Kitts and Nevis, and pilot a renewable energy feed-in tariff mechanism to help the country develop a commercial market mechanism for its green energy transition.
