Project Name:Poultry and Livestock Production and Marketing Project
Project status:Projects in Operation
Cooperating Country:Asia-Pacific, Palau
Project Description:
This project aligns with the Palau government's policy objective of "Strengthening National Climate Resilience in Agriculture and Aquaculture." By expanding the scale of poultry and livestock production in Palau, the project seeks to promote commercialization of the sector and reduce reliance on imported food. Simultaneously, by enhancing the competitiveness of local livestock products and building consumer trust, the project will assist Palau in establishing a "safe, premium, and sustainable" livestock industry system.
Key components include:
- Expansion of piglet supply and guidance on breeding practices: supplying 3,186 piglets and guiding 12 farmers in transitioning to specialized breeding, with two farms scaling up to more than 40 head.
- Expansion of chick supply and guidance on breeding practices: assisting three farmers in becoming specialized breeders to produce 18,000 chicks, and supporting 10 new small-scale commercial farms.
- Enhancement of competitiveness and trust: establishing a comprehensive livestock farm evaluation system while simultaneously promoting and marketing premium livestock products.
