Project Description:
This project aims to help Haiti diversify and increase its supply of fruits and vegetables, enhance the cultivation techniques of local farmers, and introduce high-quality fruit and vegetable varieties from Taiwan. Implementation of the project involves: (1) setting up a vegetable and fruit cultivation demonstration field; (2) conducting counseling and training sessions for farmers.

Project Objectives:
- Establishment of one demonstration site for vegetable and fruit cultivation;
- Implementation of farmer outreach and training activities.

Current Progress:
As of the end of June 2025, the following has been completed:
- Establishment of a 0.5-hectare demonstration site for vegetable and fruit cultivation.
- Planting of 70 papaya Red Lady (new variety) seedlings at the demonstration site.
- Sowing of 8,000 water spinach New Taoyuan No.1 (new variety) seedlings at the demonstration site.
- Sowing of 6,000 cucumber (local variety) seedlings at the demonstration site.
- Propagation and promotion of 3,000 healthy vegetable and fruit seedlings, and the introduction of two new varieties (papaya Red Lady and water spinach New Taoyuan No.1).
- Introduction of 10 cubic meters of compost, and the organization of one compost production workshop and three farmer training sessions, with a total of 120 participants trained.
- Provision of technical assistance to farmers for the cultivation of vegetables and fruits (such as corn, cucumber, mung bean, etc.), covering a total area of 4.5 hectares.
- Development of a crop cultivation manual.
