Project Description：

The project aims to build upon the achievements of the "2024 Rice Production Enhancement Project in North/North-East, Haiti", to stabilize national rice production of Haiti and to improve food security as a priority. Project implementation will involve: 1. production of 300 metric tons of Xaragua rice seed; 2. and, the production of 900 metric tons of paddy rice.

Implementation Start Date：2025-01-01

Implementation End Date：2025-12-31

Project Objectives：

1. Production of 300 metric tons of Xaragua rice seed; 

2. Production of 900 metric tons of paddy rice; 

3. Training of 12 field inspectors and six laboratory  personnel; 

4. Operational support for 14 Joint Service Centers;

5. Training of 240 farmers and organization of two field demonstration sessions; 

6. Data development and application of an agricultural product traceability system.

Executing Agency：

Technical Mission of The Republic of China (Taiwan) in the Republic of Haiti / Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development of Haiti/ Agriculture Bureau of North/North-East provinces.

Current Progress：

As of the end of December 2025, the following has been completed:

1. Production of 326.44 metric tons of high-quality rice seeds and 921.48 metric tons of paddy rice.
2. Cultivation and purification of 0.12 hectares of nucleus seeds, 0.25 hectares of foundation seeds, and five hectares of registered seeds.
3. Management of 200 hectares of contracted seed production fields and 125 hectares of commercial rice fields.
4. Training of 240 farmers and operational support for five Joint Service Centers for farmers’ organizations.
5. Registration of cultivation and harvest data for 150 hectares in the Agricultural Production Information System.
