Project Name:Green Energy Special Fund (GESF)-Subproject 3: BiH Elektrokrajina Power Distribution Upgrade Project
Project status:Projects in Operation
Cooperating Country:Eastern Europe, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Project Description:
The loan project supports the reconstruction of medium and low-voltage networks and substations, as well as the introduction in the Republika Srpska of smart metering technology, which has an automatic meter management function.
This project is expected to reduce distribution loss which could be translated to a reduction of 63,000 tons of CO2 emissions.
Project Objectives:
1. Reducing losses: it is projected to reduce the overall distribution losses from 14.41 percent to approximately 10 percent. 2. Improving collections, by reducing receivables aging: the introduction of smart meters with remote disconnection capabilities is expected to have an important effect on the collection of receivables. 3. Improving the quality of supply: the project involves replacement of substations and reconstruction of networks in the most populated areas. 4. Facilitating new renewable connections to the distribution network, mainly small PV and HPP.
Executing Agency:ZP Elektrokrajina A.D. Banja Luka
