Project Description：

The Republic of China dispatches consultants to the resident Taiwan Technical Mission to carry out agricultural technical assistance with Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the Agreement of Agricultural Cooperation between the Republic of China Government Represented by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabian Government. The main tasks of the technical consultants of Taiwan Technical Mission include: 1. Understanding and assessing the annual needs of the Saudi partner agencies and formulating the annual work plan; 2. Providing project progress reports and final reports in accordance with project management procedures; 3. Delivering consultancy services based on the key focus areas of the project implementation.

Project Objectives：

1. Understanding and assessing the annual needs of the Saudi partner agencies and formulating the annual work plan.

2. Providing project progress reports and final reports in accordance with project management procedures.

3. Delivering consultancy services based on the key focus areas of the project implementation.

Current Progress：

As of September 2025, the following activities have been completed:

Continue utilizing tissue culture technology to assist Saudi Arabia in the preservation and propagation of crop varieties. Concrete outcomes include the cultivation of two endangered date palm varieties, the preservation of 50 date palm and four potato germplasm resources, and the provision of 24,000 tissue-cultured seedlings (including blackberry and essential oil-producing roses) to the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture. These efforts have contributed to strengthening Saudi Arabia’s capacity for crop variety preservation and propagation.
