1. The main achievements include assisting Saudi Arabia’s Fisheries Development Program in evaluating two aquaculture farms under its jurisdiction and reviewing the outcomes of four related research projects. In addition, support was provided in assessing the Abu Ali Hatchery’s collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), including planning objectives and concrete operational details for future aquaculture species development, production demand forecasting, environmental impact assessment, and workforce training.
2. This quarter, three beneficiary households were guided in establishing low-cost aquaponics production systems, along with a circular economy model that converts waste materials (such as kitchen scraps and livestock manure) into biofeed nutrients. These initiatives effectively reduced production costs, enhanced freshwater utilization efficiency, and improved overall productivity, contributing to Saudi Arabia’s vision of advancing toward green and sustainable aquaculture development.
