Project Name:Aquaculture Development Consultant Dispatch Project (Bahrain)

Project Description:
The Republic of China dispatches consultants to the resident Taiwan Technical Mission to carry out aquaculture technical assistance with Agriculture and Marine Resources Affairs, Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning under the Agreement of Agricultural Technical Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of China and the Government of the State of Bahrain. The main tasks of the technical consultants of Taiwan Technical Mission include:
1. Continue to assist with the fish propagation, rearing and growing during the spawning season. The fish species include Seabream, Sobaity, Grouper and other new species.
2. Assist in implementing the training program with Tamkeen for on-site and overseas training on aquaculture skills.
Project Objectives:To improve the operational efficiency of the Bahrain national mariculture cente.

Current Progress:
To the December, the following activities have been completed in 2024:
1. During the spawning season, all the preparation on spawning tanks for Seabream and Sobaity broodstock have been settled.
2. During the spawning season, one batch of Rabbitfish and one batch of Largescale Mullet fertilized eggs have been collected and well-incubated.
3. The live food section has been well-functioning to produce the required quantity of algae and live food for Rabbitfish and Largescale Mullet fry.
4. Cultured and Incubated all the broodstock fish.

Projected Benefits:
1. This project will assist with the fish propagation, rearing and growing during the spawning season for those existing culture species and the new local species.
2. This project will assist in planning a training program for new staff's on-site training for aquaculture skill.
3. This project will assist in setting up a small-scale fish feed manufacturing project by using local materials for the culturing species in the National Maruculture Center.
