Project Description：

The project will strengthen and promote the aquaculture industry in Guatemala in response to a government aim to promote the tilapia industry and restore stocks of pescado blanco (“white fish”).Overall, this project will:
1.Assist Guatemalan authorities to establish propagation and cultivation techniques for tilapia and white fish at Remate center.
2.Assist fishermen’s organizations to enhance cultivation techniques and marketing activities.
3.Organize mutually beneficial aquaculture activities, courses, seminars, site visits and other forms of professional training.
4.Train technical staff from local government departments and upgrade management capacity to a sufficient level to manage the aquaculture center.
