Project Description：

The Republic of China dispatches consultants to the resident Taiwan Technical Mission to carry out agricultural technical assistance with Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the Agreement of Agricultural Cooperation between the Republic of China Government Represented by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabian Government. The main tasks of the technical consultants of Taiwan Technical Mission include: 1. Understanding and assessing the annual needs of the Saudi partner agencies and formulating the annual work plan; 2. Providing project progress reports and final reports in accordance with project management procedures; 3. Delivering consultancy services based on the key focus areas of the project implementation.

Current Progress：

As of December 2025, the following activities have been completed:

1. Support provided to Saudi Arabia’s National Fisheries Development Program, under which a total of ten research projects were reviewed over the year. Implementation achievements also included assistance with program operations, the publication of nine research outputs, and the delivery of forty-one aquaculture technical advisory and consultancy services. These efforts contributed to enhancing the practical applicability of research outcomes and improving the operational efficiency of private-sector aquaculture enterprises in Saudi Arabia.

2. Continued technical guidance was provided to aquaculture extension farmers with high development potential, with a cumulative total of ten farmers supported. Assistance included the establishment of quarantine ponds, optimization of on-farm resource utilization and management practices, strengthening of crustacean aquaculture and hands-on technical skills, and mitigation of water salinity and low-temperature challenges. Semi-brackish aquaculture systems, water quality analysis, aquaponics, and water purification technologies were introduced to improve production efficiency and overall profitability.
