Project Description：

On April 25, 2015, Nepal was hit by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake, which caused immense destruction of property, injury, and loss of life. Many health facilities were damaged or destroyed as a result of the earthquake, affecting the functionality and capacity of the health system to respond to the impacts of the disaster. The four districts Sindhupalchowk, Gorkha, Dhading and Dolakha which will be targeted by this project, have 258 health facilities in total, 231 of them have been either completely damaged or partially damaged. The aim of the project is to restore 4 health posts and 1 clinic so that they can provide the quality health services for the population in these earthquake-affected communities.
Overall, the project will:
1. Repair/Reconstruction of earthquake-resistant health posts with adequate water, sanitation and hygiene facilities.
2. Enhance awareness and knowledge of health workers and communities on sanitation, disease and disaster risk management.
3. Improve the capacity of health workers to deliver disease outbreak management, disaster preparedness and WASH health services.

Project Objectives：

To contribute to the restoration and improvement of quality health services for the earthquake affected population in target areas.

Executing Agency：World Vision International Nepal(WVIN)

Implementation Arrangement：The TaiwanICDF dispatched a volunteer to assist in the implementation of the project; WVIN implemented the proposed activities and liaised with local NGOs and government offices. World Vision Taiwan provided technical and management oversight.
