Project Description：

The Project supported the reconstruction of medium and low-voltage networks and substations as well as the installation of smart metering including an automatic meter management system (“AMM”) in the Republika Srpska, BiH.

Project Objectives：

1. Reducing the overall distribution losses from 8.83 per cent to approximately 6.5 per cent, corresponding to electricity savings of around 17 GWh per year; 2. Improving the quality of power supply; 3. Facilitating new renewable connections to the distribution network, mainly small PV and small HPP; and 4. Improving customers' power consumption behaviors.

Implementation Arrangement：

The TaiwanICDF, through its contribution to the GESF, co-financed the project with the EBRD by providing a loan to ZEDP Elektro-Bijeljina A.D. Bijeljina, a state-owned power distribution company servicing approximately 25 per cent of consumers (13 municipalities) in the Republika Srpska, BiH.
