Project Name:Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Development Consultant Dispatch Project (Bahrain)

Project Description:

The Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan), in accordance with the “Agreement of Agricultural Technical Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of China and the Government of the State of Bahrain,” has dispatched technical advisors to collaborate with the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture of Bahrain. In response to national development policies, the mission provides strategic advisory services on smart agriculture development, promotes aquaculture cooperation projects with potential partner institutions, and explores potential areas of bilateral cooperation in smart cities, with the objective of strengthening bilateral interaction and exchange in agriculture and smart city development. The main tasks include:1.Providing advisory and consulting services related to smart agriculture;2.Promoting aquaculture cooperation projects with potential partner institutions;3.Exploring potential areas of cooperation, including smart cities.

Current Progress:

Major Achievements Completed as of June 2026

1. Planning for Smart City Cooperation

To advance Taiwan-Bahrain collaboration in smart city development, the project continued to work closely with the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture of Bahrain to explore development needs, policy priorities, and opportunities for future cooperation. Drawing on Taiwan’s technological expertise and successful smart city applications, the project identified potential areas for collaboration and laid the groundwork for future joint initiatives.

During the reporting period, one exchange activity was successfully planned, further strengthening bilateral dialogue and supporting the formulation of future smart city cooperation projects.

2. Smart Agriculture Consultancy

The project continued to support the Horticultural Crops Development Consultants Dispatch Project in promoting smart agriculture technologies and facilitating the deployment of a Taiwanese smart agriculture expert for a short-term technical exchange mission in Bahrain.

During the mission, comprehensive assessments were conducted at both commercial and school-based farms. Consultations and technical recommendations were provided to local stakeholders, helping identify potential applications of smart agriculture technologies and opportunities for future collaboration.

Projected Benefits:

Effectively assist the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, as well as other external entities, in formulating and promoting new advisory-type projects related to smart agriculture, aquaculture, and smart cities.
