Project Description：

The project supported Sofia, the capital city of Bulgaria, in implementing its strategy of increasing green urban mobility through the purchase of up to 30 electric low floor buses and 12 charging stations with fast charging technology.

Project Objectives：

1. Replaced fossil-fueled bus fleet to reduce carbon emissions in the transport sector. 2. Improved the reliability, energy efficiency and quality of public transport services. 3. Reduced the pollution caused by traffic congestion.

Executing Agency：Sofia Electric Transport Company

Implementation Arrangement：

The TaiwanICDF, through its contribution to the GESF, co-financed the project with the EBRD by providing a loan to Sofia Electric Transport Company, which is 100 per cent owned by the City.
