Together, We Can Heal: TaiwanICDF Produces a Promotional Video During the World

The Seventy-sixth World Health Assembly (WHA) adopted an ambitious theme for 2023 — WHO at 75: Saving lives, driving health for all. The TaiwanICDF echoes this sentiment, including by co-hosting the “Mental Health for All: Psychosocial Support for People in Need in Emergency Contexts” forum with the Good Neighbors Global Partnership Center and Malteser International. This year, we also produced “Together, We Can Heal,” a video that raises societal awareness of the TaiwanICDF and its joint efforts with other international organizations and partner countries. Together, we safeguard the health of vulnerable people through collaborative projects.
The video starts with global news footage, showing how the TaiwanICDF empathizes with victims of natural and man-made disasters. The beginning also highlights Taiwan’s desire to lend a helping hand. We structure transitions with dynamic footage and infographics and use music to evoke a sympathetic response. Combined, these features develop a narrative appeal for the audience. Throughout the video, we demonstrate how the TaiwanICDF leverages international collaborations with NGOs and partner countries to pursue projects in vulnerable regions. In particular, the images show how we help these communities rebuild and recover following disasters. Moreover, on the topic of health, the TaiwanICDF addresses the mental health and psychosocial support (PSS) needs of Ukrainian refugee children, which echoes the emerging trend of including mental welfare in international humanitarian assistance.
For example, the TaiwanICDF partners with World Vision Eswatini to help pregnant women improve their nutritional status, Terre des hommes Foundation to cultivate digital healthcare skills in India to manage COVID-19, and Good Neighbors to address the aforementioned mental health needs of Ukrainian refugee children. These projects showcase Taiwan joining hands and hearts with the world to respond to humanitarian needs and public health emergencies with empathy and determination. By showcasing these projects, the video illustrates to the world that Taiwan gives love and strength to everyone who needs support.
