The TaiwanICDF invites audience members from diverse areas to sign up for the webinar - Incorporating Digital Transformation with Broader Inclusiveness and Greater Innovation to Build a Straight Path to Sustainability Post Covid-19 on 14th July.

The United Nations hosts the High Level Political Forum (HLPF) in New York every July, where it invites leaders and civil society groups from various countries to jointly review the progress towards the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and propose corresponding strategies. The meeting is now in its 10th year (2022) and will be held from Tuesday, 5 July, to Friday, 15 July 2022. The theme for the 2022 HLPF is “Building back better from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) while advancing the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”. It will review in-depth Sustainable Development Goals 4 on quality education, 5 on gender equality, 14 on life below water, 15 on life on land, and 17 on partnerships for the Goals, and take into account the various countries' recovery policies as we look for ways of reversing the negative impacts of a resulting lag in the SDGs.

Due to the continued impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, this year's forum's side events were held online again, which also shows the importance of digital development in the post-epidemic era. The TaiwanICDF and Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York will cooperate again, with the theme of “Incorporating Digital Transformation with Broader Inclusiveness and Greater Innovation to Build a Straight Path to Sustainability Post Covid-19”. The webinar will be held at 10 am (EDT) on July 14, 2022, inviting experts from different professions and areas to discuss the digital transformation framework needed to cope with the COVID-19 epidemic and the post-epidemic era and find the right innovative digital solutions to help the world return to the track of sustainable development.

The COVID-19 epidemic has made us understand the importance of digital transformation. In the post-epidemic era, digital transformation and its application in different fields will receive far more attention. During the COVID-19 epidemic, digital tools have been effective in many aspects, including epidemic control, online learning, e-commerce, and distance communication, etc; however, it also highlights the inequity caused by the digital gap, deepens the gap between the rich and the poor and between urban and rural areas, and causes a series of network security problems. Hence the TaiwanICDF and Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York will echo the 5 SDGs (SDG4,5,14,15,17) through this side event, invite representatives of partners countries to share the needs and challenges of digital transformation from the perspective of developing countries, and representatives from various perspectives such as government development assistance (ODA) agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and enterprises and will also share some projects in implementation, explore innovative practices and potential opportunities for digital transformation in the before-mentioned target areas, co-creating a Digital Ecosystem that leads to SDGs.

This webinar will be conducted in English, all people who are interested in sustainable development, digital transformation and post-pandemic recovery are welcome to sign up, event information and registration link as below: https://reurl.cc/b2vK4M .
