The TaiwanICDF announces the 2022 scholarship recipients for the International Higher Education Scholarship Program

The International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) announced the list of this year’s scholarship recipients on June 6, granting scholarships to 210 students from 30 partner countries through its International Higher Education Scholarship Program.

This year, the TaiwanICDF is not only offering scholarships to outstanding students from countries that are diplomatic allies of Taiwan, but is also providing scholarships for students from the New Southbound Policy countries and African countries, like Somaliland. The scholarship recipients will come to Taiwan to study 34 programs, ranging from agriculture, public health, medical care, information engineering, business management, education leadership, remote sensing, natural disaster prevention and mitigation, to tourism and catering. Because the COVID-19 epidemic has not fully subsided, in the future, the TaiwanICDF will follow entry regulations issued by the CECC and the Ministry of Education when arranging for new students to come to Taiwan.

Initiated in 1998, the scholarship program is implemented in partnership with 22 Taiwanese universities to offer bachelor’s, master’s and Ph.D. courses covering science and engineering, agriculture, public health and medicine, business management, and the humanities and social sciences. To date, 2,619 students have benefited from the scholarships, and a total of 490 students from 32 countries are currently studying in Taiwan.
