Belizean Minister of Sustainable Development, Climate Change, and Disaster Risk Management Hon. Orlando Habet and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kenrick Williams  visited the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) on August 10, 2023.

The TaiwanICDF Secretary General, Amb. Charles C. Li. welcomed Minister Orlando Habet, and Dr. Kenrick Williams while exchanging views on the TaiwanICDF’s cooperation projects in Belize.

The TaiwanICDF’s ongoing projects in the country include the Breeding Sheep and Goat Production and Guidance System Enhancement Project, the Flood Warning Capacity Improvement for the Belize River Basin Project, the Project for Strengthening Medical Imaging System in Belize, Empowerment of Women in Latin America and the Caribbean through Entrepreneurship and Financial Inclusion/Belize, and the Digital Inclusion Program. The TaiwanICDF also dispatches servicemen to assist with implementing these projects under the Taiwan Youth Overseas Service program. The TaiwanICDF has also helped hundreds of Belizeans through its ongoing educational programs. This includes the 278 Belizean participants who have joined the TaiwanICDF’s professional workshops, and the 404 students who have received its International Higher Education Scholarships and studied in Taiwan.  Currently, 102 Belizeans are pursuing higher education in Taiwan with support from the TaiwanICDF.
