Project Name: Green Energy Special Fund (GESF)-Subproject 4: BiH Elektro-Bijeljina Smart Metering Expansion Project
Project Description: The Project supports the reconstruction of medium and low-voltage networks and substations as well as the installation of smart metering including an automatic meter management system (“AMM”) in the Republika Srpska, BiH.

Project Objectives: (i)Reducing the overall distribution losses from 8.83 per cent to approximately 6.5 per cent, corresponding to electricity savings of around 17 GWh per year;
(ii)Improving the quality of power supply;
(iii)Facilitating new renewable connections to the distribution network, mainly small PV and small HPP; and
(iv)Improving customers' power consumption behaviors.
Executing Agency: ZEDP Elektro-Bijeljina A.D. Bijeljina
Implementation Arrangement: The TaiwanICDF, through its contribution to the GESF, co-finances the project with the EBRD by providing a loan to ZEDP Elektro-Bijeljina A.D. Bijeljina, a state-owned power distribution company servicing approximately 25 per cent of consumers (13 municipalities) in the Republika Srpska, BiH.
